Voter Information
In order to vote in an election, you must be registered with the County
Clerk's office.
You may register to vote if
- You
are a citizen of the United States
- You
are at least 18 years old on or before election day
- You
have lived in your precinct for at least 30 days prior to the election
You will need 2 forms of identification in order to register to vote.
One of the forms must show your permanent residence. Examples are
- Driver's
license
- Hunting
or Fishing License
- Student
ID
- Mail
delivered to you at your address
You may register to vote at
- County
Clerk's office in the courthouse at 507 Vermont Street in Quincy
- Military
Recruitment Offices
- Driver
License Facilities
- Department
of Public Aid Offices
- Department
of Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities Offices
- Deputy
Registrars
Once you have registered, you will receive a card in the mail that
tells you
where you vote on Election Day. Go to that polling place and state your
name.
The poll workers will verify your address and have you sign your name.
You will be handed a ballot. You proceed to a voting booth and mark
your ballot. You
take the ballot to the voting machine and insert your ballot. The
ballot falls into a locked ballot box in case a recount is needed, and
the machine records your vote.
