About
the League
In 1920 the League was born out of
the women’s suffrage movement that secured the 19th Amendment, ensuring
women the right to vote. The League has earned a reputation as a highly
respected organization that researches issues from many points of view
and educates the public as well as decision makers.
We’ve made a difference in our community and have been an active and
positive force in Quincy since 1950.
The local chapter of the League of Women Voters formed on May 24, 1950
